1.) Gigi's Cupcakes: Gigi's Cupcakes is one of the larger cupcake chain bakeries in the United States. It is especially prominent in the South, though its establishments can be found elsewhere. Don't let the fact this place is a chain fool you. These are quality cupcakes, some of the best you'll find in any chain bakery.
2.) CamiCakes: As of this writing there are only four CamiCakes establishments, two in Florida and two in the Atlanta region of Georgia. Apparently the creator of this business was inspired by the Easy Bake Oven when she was a little girl. They don't ship, but if you happen to be near one a CamiCakes you've got to try at least one.
3.) Yummy Cupcakes: If you're in Southern California and in the mood for some gourmet cupcakes, Yummy Cupcakes is the place to go. Lots of classic options here, but there are also sugar-free and even vegan cupcakes! Try them, you'll like them.
4.) Molly's Cupcakes: Chicago or New York. Chicago or New York. Which city is your favorite? When it comes to cupcakes, it doesn't matter! Why? Because both cities sport a Molly's Cupcakes, which also offers cheese cakes and brownies and other treats. Better yet, Molly's Cupcakes uses some of its profits to help support children and regional schools.
5.) Sprinkles: Sprinkles is another chain, and its claim to be fame is to have been the very first cupcake-only bakery starting with its Beverly Hills bakery seven years ago. Now you can find a Sprinkles bakery in many major cities throughout the U.S. You've got to try these! They're awesome!
6.) Georgetown Cupcake: As you might be able to tell from the name, this place was started in the Washington D.C. area a few years back. Since then they have expanded into a few other major cities with plans apparently to add even more bakeries. They have lots of special daily and seasonal cupcakes, so it might take a while to try them all.
7.) Crumbs Bake Shop: You want truly gourmet cupcakes? And how about giant cupcakes? If so, this is the place for you. You can find lots of Crumbs Bake Shop locations in New York City, the original being on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and there are also a handful of the bakeries in or around Los Angeles.
8.) just baked: If you live in or are visiting Michigan, check out one of the many locations of this baking company. They bake and sell other items than cupcakes, but they are really known for those cupcakes. The Grumpy Cake devils food cupcake is a personal favorite!
9.) Magnolia Bakery: This is likely the most famous bakery on this list. With multiple location throughout New York City, the original bakery in the West Village of Manhattan has been featured in several movies and television programs. They sell more than just cupcakes, but Magnolia Bakery is known for its cupcakes and the influence it has had on the whole cupcake loving trend.
10.) The Atlanta Cupcake Factory: Here's another great cupcake place in Atlanta. I guess that town knows its cupcakes! If you are interested in small, family-owned bakeries, this is the place for you. They have several standard cupcakes, but they also mix things up by making available new and sometimes limited varieties of cupcakes. So, they've always go something new!
